Warning: this information will challenge your core beliefs, and may royally tick you off.  It sure ticked me off, because I couldn’t believe that my whole belief system - in this industry - was built on the faulty “strength and conditioning” foundation of miss-information and bad science.  And my athlete’s performance has suffered for years because of it.

 

Which brings us to the topic of truth.

 

The strength and conditioning industry (along with fitness and fat loss) is plagued with well-meaning individuals, coaches and trainers that have no idea what the truth is when it comes to preparing an athlete for their sport. 

 

But they think they do… and it can be gut-wrenching to watch.

 

They buy into the lies, myths, and confusion of the latest fad, book, or rumor that promises to give them an edge in competition.  With all the “scientific” research, training methodics, and articles written, why are teams not really getting any better?

 

 It’s because “results” are too easy to get.  And that’s when results can actually be deceptive.

 

            I mean, come on!  Take any athlete that has been de-conditioning for months and put him on any kind of “strength and conditioning” program, and he will get “results”.   Right?  And so - the reasoning goes - your strength and conditioning program must be working.

Easy Results Don’t Tell The Truth!

 

            In fact, easy results are why your team has suffered sub-par performance for years. Sure you work them hard… that’s a given.  And, of course, they do get stronger… but that is the easy part! Getting stronger is always the easiest part. That’s where the problem lies, and has for years.
